Best Acca Insurance Offers
Acca insurance is the promotion that refunds your stake — almost always as a free bet rather than cash — when your accumulator misses by a single leg. It is the most useful ongoing promotion in UK betting for anyone who plays multiples every weekend, and it is worth far more over a season than most welcome bonuses.
How acca insurance works
You place an accumulator that meets the promotion's rules. If every selection wins, you get paid as normal. If exactly one selection loses, the bookmaker refunds your stake up to a stated maximum, usually credited as a free bet within 24 hours of the final leg settling.
The mechanic is simple. The value sits entirely in the small print, which is where the offers differ from each other.
What to check before you place the bet
- Minimum legs. Most offers need five or more selections. A four-fold that would have been covered elsewhere can fall outside the promotion entirely.
- Minimum odds per leg. Short-priced favourites are frequently excluded, so a 1/5 leg can quietly void your cover.
- Maximum refund. Cover is capped — often between £10 and £25. Staking above the cap means the excess is uninsured.
- Refund type and expiry. Refunds are normally a free bet with stake not returned, and they usually expire in seven days.
- Eligible markets. Some offers cover match result only; others include Bet Builders, correct scores or other sports.
- Opt-in. Several bookmakers require you to opt in from the promotions tab before the bet is struck. No opt-in, no refund.
Acca insurance terms change frequently and vary by sport and event. Always read the live promotion page on the bookmaker's site before staking — that is the version that governs your bet.
Welcome offers that include acca free bets

Frequently asked questions
Is acca insurance actually worth using?
It is worth having on an account you already use, because it costs nothing to opt in. It should not be the reason you lengthen an accumulator — adding a sixth leg purely to qualify usually costs more in expected value than the refund is worth.
Do I get cash back if one leg loses?
Almost never. Refunds are credited as free bets on a stake-not- returned basis, so you keep only the profit if the free bet wins.
Can I combine acca insurance with a welcome offer?
Usually not on the qualifying bet itself. Once your welcome offer has settled, ongoing acca promotions become available. Compare the sign-up offers on our free bets page, or browse every licensed operator on our betting sites page.
