Best Acca Insurance Offers
What is acca insurance, and are these welcome offers insured?
Acca insurance is a conditional accumulator promotion that may return a qualifying stake when a specified losing-leg condition is met. The return may be a free bet rather than cash. Required selections, minimum odds, stake limits and eligible bets vary by operator.
The table below compares welcome offers mentioning accumulators; it does not verify that those bets qualify for acca insurance. Check the separate insurance terms and any opt-in requirement before placing an accumulator.

How acca insurance works
You place an accumulator that meets the promotion's rules. If every selection wins, you get paid as normal. If exactly one selection loses, the bookmaker refunds your stake up to a stated maximum, usually credited as a free bet within 24 hours of the final leg settling.
The mechanic is simple. The value sits entirely in the small print, which is where the offers differ from each other.
What to check before you place the bet
- Minimum legs. Most offers need five or more selections. A four-fold that would have been covered elsewhere can fall outside the promotion entirely.
- Minimum odds per leg. Short-priced favourites are frequently excluded, so a 1/5 leg can quietly void your cover.
- Maximum refund. Cover is capped — often between £10 and £25. Staking above the cap means the excess is uninsured.
- Refund type and expiry. Refunds are normally a free bet with stake not returned, and they usually expire in seven days.
- Eligible markets. Some offers cover match result only; others include Bet Builders, correct scores or other sports.
- Opt-in. Several bookmakers require you to opt in from the promotions tab before the bet is struck. No opt-in, no refund.
Acca insurance terms change frequently and vary by sport and event. Always read the live promotion page on the bookmaker's site before staking — that is the version that governs your bet.

Frequently asked questions
Is acca insurance actually worth using?
It is worth having on an account you already use, because it costs nothing to opt in. It should not be the reason you lengthen an accumulator — adding a sixth leg purely to qualify usually costs more in expected value than the refund is worth.
Do I get cash back if one leg loses?
Almost never. Refunds are credited as free bets on a stake-not- returned basis, so you keep only the profit if the free bet wins.
Can I combine acca insurance with a welcome offer?
Usually not on the qualifying bet itself. Once your welcome offer has settled, ongoing acca promotions become available. Compare the sign-up offers on our free bets page, or browse every licensed operator on our betting sites page.
Frequently asked questions
- What is acca insurance?
- A promotion that refunds your stake — usually as a free bet — when an accumulator of a stated minimum number of selections loses by exactly one leg.
- How many selections do I need for acca insurance?
- Most bookmakers require five or more legs, though some run four-fold versions. Each offer's minimum leg count and minimum odds per leg are listed above.
- Is the acca insurance refund cash or a free bet?
- Almost always a free bet, typically capped between £10 and £25, and usually credited within 24 hours of the accumulator settling.
- Does acca insurance apply if two legs lose?
- No. The refund only triggers when exactly one selection lets the accumulator down. Two or more losing legs void the insurance.
- Do void legs count towards acca insurance?
- A void leg normally reduces the accumulator to a smaller multiple, which can drop it below the minimum leg count and cancel the insurance. Check each bookmaker's void rules first.
